what think of this armour
THANK |
The lacing is completely wrong. The edging was put on after the lacing. The lacing and the edging are "aged". Therefore, fake. The same kind of incorrect lacing can be seen on lamellar neckguards of fake Chinese/Mongolian/Tibetan helmets.
I haven't seen edging like this on the front vertical edges (where the front closes) on authentic ones, only on the hem, neckline, armpits, and bottom of shoulders. The best book with pictures of authentic Tibetan arms and armour I know of is Warriors of the Himlayas. This was attached to an exhibition, and a few of the items can be seen at http://www.asianart.com/exhibitions/...mor/index.html, including one lamellar armour. |
