New book
Just got a new book by E.Jaiwant Paul "Arms and Armor. Traditional weapons of India" This is a hevily re-written "By my sword and shield": bigger, longer and uncut.
Not an academic book like the Elgood's one, but a nice coffey table book with quite a lot of color pics, great historical vignettes and a general overview of the field, all in 140 pages. Got it directly from D.K. Agencies in New Delhi for a total of $27.45 including postage, much cheaper than e-bay sources. Ii got some other books from them before; very good and reliable service. They have very large collection of similar books. |
I just saw a new copy of this book for as little as $10.00 on bookfinders.com :)

Nechesh,
tried bookfinder.com = no result  Here's where I can find one. At USD13.22 (exclude shipping). http://www.bookshopofindia.com/searc...&bookid=959237 |
Not sure what you are doing wrong. I just put Paul into the author field and Arms and Armour into the title field and a long list of sellers comes up. There's even one there for $9.98. Try again. :)

On ABEbooks you can get if at US$ 9.99-47.22 + postage.

I recently picked up the book as well. Nice pictures and a very easy read. My only negative comment is that I believe the author is quite generous with his date attributions to many of the pieces pictured.

BOOK IS AVAILABLE AT CHEAPEST PRICE
YES ! The book is available at cheapest price of US$ 13.30 + 7.50 shipping by air at http://www.bookshopofindia.com/searc...&bookid=959237
They offer discount of 15%. Its great. I have to shell out just $ 20.80 (including shipping). Just checkout guys. |
Well, i hate to keep repeating myself, but NO  , you will STILL find it cheaper at bookfinder.com  The $10 selection is no longer there (hopeful one of you smart guys got that), but there is still a listing at Powell.com for only $9.98. It's a U.S. seller so for folks in the States the shipping should be minimial. :)

Having seen one sold on e-bay ("Buy it now") for about $35 + SH, I felt like a winner with my measly $27. I even told my wife "See, how much money I saved for the family!" ( an argument she often uses on me when she buys something unnecessary and expensive at 30% discount, or when she selects about 20 things in the store and then buys only 5).
Now, I feel like a chump..... :( :o :( :o :( :o Thank you, guys, for ruining my day. |

Well Ariel, I think it's a good idea to try bookfinder.com first, in future. ;) |
