Unfortunately the seller had no idea where it comes from.
The blade is 34.5cm long and 1.8cm wide ground on both sides.
Sword blade? Horn Handle 9cm long
Leather sheath partially embossed, smooth seam on the back.

I wouldn't rule out African, I have seen something similar that was attributed to N.W. Africa.

I agree with David, the handle construction is very similar to the Moroccan shula.
Then again, as we've seen in the past, there is a strong common Spanish link between the Maghreb, Latin America and even the Philippines, with similar weapon styles apparently stradling all three parts of the world.

The handle construction, the scabbard and the blade all remind me of some of the sword/machetes that I have seen that were brought back from Cuba after the Spanish American war.

With that type of leather scabbard, it seems to me from West Africa, utilising a ground down European sword or bayonet blade ?
