A Quadarra with Twistcore Blade

This is an interesting quadarra with silver nielloed hilt and scabbard mount decoration and a dated coin centerpiece to the hilt.

The blade is of excellent quality with a twistcore in what appears to be "Turkish Ribbon" style.

Charles

That is one sweeeet piece. Is the cutting edge pattern welded? You always amaze me that you can find these great pieces. My theory is you have H.G. Wells time machine hidden in your garage. :D ;) Congrats on a great find.

These are not my field of collecting, but what a great blade!!!!

Lew...you have seen me and what I look like, and so you know I definitely do not have a time machine!!

Wow, lovely Lew. A quick question re conservation, would you gently clean and etch this blade to bring out the pattern or leave it? It appears in fine form already but I'm alway curious what other collectors prefer or do.

I agree with Lew's theory...share the time machine, Charles!

True though...Charles just has exceptionally good taste and good connections. I always love seeing the magnificent pieces in such outstanding condition. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys.... :o ....blushing! This is about the nicest one I've seen, and like I said, I feel very fortunate to have gotten it.

Hi Charles,

Didn't see this one, so sorry for the late reply. It's a beauty! What's the overall length? Have you done anthing to accentuate the twistcore pattern?

Regards
Gene
