Translation Needed

I need to clear up this translation on an old Sudanese dagger I have gotten mixed results so far. Dom can you help please.

Lew,

You broke an important rule!! :D :D

For a translation you have to show the entire piece as well. Otherwise Dom will forget his tongue :p and we all wish to enjoy a good piece.......

Thanks Lew, it is always a feast to enjoy your marvelous pieces.

When i posted my remark i actually realized you did posted it in another thread, but you never can see these good pieces enough. ;)

It's a name, the first is Mohamed abda "something" I can't make it out, maybe abdasab or abdarab abdaran. Also, numbers 1316=1898. Maybe something in the upper left too but I cannot tell.

ABDENNE MOHAMED eitherABDENNE MOHAMED (Abdenne could be (?) a name)
last line, as well as Michael gave the signification, a date
- 1316 either 1898

That's a most beautiful dagger of this kind I've ever seen!
