Hi all,a local antique shop has several pieces for sale and kindly allowed me to photo them, for posting on this site. I would like to buy one or more, but don't want to buy junk. Are these two good or not?
Please refer other postings for the other pieces.

Hi Brian,
I would not buy any of the pieces you have listed in these 4 threads. I may be missing something that may persuade others as to their desirability but they all look worse than pretty ordinary to me, you can see the marks of the grinder on 3 of them. I would really suggest talk to a trustworthy dealer before committing too many of your hard earned $$s in the world of keris (or rencong which is what the one in this thread looks like), there is a lot of rubbish out there.
cheers
DrD

I'm moving this to the main forum as we only discuss keris here. :)

I concur David; at least with this particular post .

After viewing the other examples posted in The Warung I would suggest you purchase none of them .

Instead use the $$$ to buy Gronemam's reprint and a few other good books on keris . :)

Learning by uninformed buying is an expensive way to go ...

I agree completely with Rick and David

I've bought one of those before when I was less careful... nice trinket, but as for a high quality knife or a sturdy self-defense blade... NOPE

Thanks heaps, guys!
