PLEASE READ: Using the "Swap Forum"

6. SPECIAL SWAP FORUM POLICIES

You must own and be able to transfer clear title to what you are selling.

If you buy, sell or trade on the Swap Forum, you do so entirely AT YOUR OWN RISK - Vikingsword does not warrant that your transaction will be completed to your satisfaction.

If you are the seller of an item or have any financial or personal relationship with the seller of an item which, to the most paranoid among us, could constitute a conflict of interest, then any post you initiate about such item belongs in the swap forum. If your only interest or connection is as a potential bidder or buyer of the item, this restriction does not apply, however, you agree to hold all forum members acting in good faith harmless, should you base any purchase decision upon information from such a discussion.

If someone else has initiated discussion on any item for which the preceding paragraph applies in your case, you may reply to and participate in the discussion, but must in each such reply include a statement of your actual or potential commercial interest in the item.

There is no enforceable external legal constraint against posting an object for discussion in a forum such as ours and later deciding to sell the item and posting a link to the discussion in the forums. However, if a forum member does this without having received the permission of the authors of the relevant posts in advance for such commercial use of their remarks, this constitutes grounds for cancellation of the offender's forum registration.

If you choose to conduct business using this forum, you specifically and knowingly agree to assume the risk of a "bad" transaction, and further agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Vikingsword, the owners, the moderators, and anyone officially associated with this site.

We urge you to carefully consider your dealings here, as everywhere on the internet. Caveat emptor.

Auction Policy Exception

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pleased be advised an exception has been made to the prohibition against posting links/information about active auctions.

It is permissible to post such information about your own auctions in a Swap Forum thread.

Commercial Use of Discussion Forum Posts

<yawn> To remind and clarify, having noticed two examples this past week, as the rules presently stand, this also includes links from the swap forum to the discussion forums, as useful as they potentially are. As long as no one who had posted on the discussion thread complains, the bear will sleep. But, if the bear is awakened, the reflex is to swipe... <snore>

Not Entirely Working as Intended

If you wish to allow unregistered viewers (lurkers) and users still in moderated status to contact you about items in the swap forum you will need to place contact information in the body of your message as these users cannot use the forums software to contact you.

Do not rely on interested parties to post 'you have a pm,' as they can no longer reply to a swap forum thread; only a thread's originator (or a moderator) may reply to it.

Do post in your thread if the item goes on hold.
Do post in your thread when the item is sold.
Do reply to all member inquiries.
