Hallo,
From the label: "unique 14th-15th century collection, found in a crypt of the city walls of the Venetian fortress of Chalkis. Most are of North italian (Venetian) construction.
These are now in the ethnological- historical museum of Athens.

Eftihis, thank you for sharing these photos of the fantastic helmets, which truly give a great representation of those being worn during these important historical times. Since most of these are Venetian, it is fascinating to see these also representing the wide scope of North Italy in colonization and trade as presently being discussed on other concurrent threads.

It seems that in todays times were are constantly amazed at the ever growing globalization and entwining of so many cultures worldwide, yet clearly it was a phenomenon that was quite present even over 500 years ago.

I would like to very much thank you, as well as the others, who share your adventures into the museums and collections of the world here. For many of us who would probably never see these, it is difficult to adequately say how very much this is appreciated!

Thank you so much,
All the best,
Jim
