asian (Chinese?) sword

The auction for this just ended. Nobody bid on it. I didn't bid on it because it was a bit too expensive and something about it doesn't look right. Still I'm curious about what it is. I assume it's Chinese, or maybe Tibetan?

that indian lions head makes me feel this is a nightmare rather than a dream. looks to me like someone took all the loose bits from his junk drawer and mish-moshed them all together. me no like. i of course reserve the right to be wrong if it turns out it's the dali llama's long lost royal sword. seeing the rest of the blade might help. it so far looks way too narrow for that scabbard.

Whoops, here's the whole thing. What turned me off was how poorly matched the hilt and blade are. They just don't fit together in my eyes.

It's Chinese. But it's a modern Chinese fantasy sword/knife, not a fake/repro historical sword (nor an actual antique).
I've seen similar being advertised as Mongolian. |
Agreed. The Chinese are currently combining all sorts of regions, and time-frames in their "antique" weapons. Some are extremely cool, and imaginative. Unfortunately, they are too expensive for re-sale.
