A ROYAL KHANDA?

THIS IS FOR ALL INDIAN EDGED WEAPONS LOVERS, as I think my latest "find" could be of interest to some on The Forum.

The khanda is almost 40" and very heavy. It is NOT wootz not pattern-weld, although I have not cleaned it yet. The similar, but Indian Wootz Shamshir was sold on E-Bay just recently ( http://cgi.ebay.com/wootz-damascus-I...QQcmdZViewItem ).

I am interested to find out: how one can compare these two as far as period, execution technique, and "Importance of the Concept" :) , etc.

P.S. Sorry for not including a complete picture of Khanda, the one I made appeared to be too dark, will try again when time permits. Regards

It looks like an interesting 19th century tourist item. Nice.
