Hallo Stelios ,

Can you photograph the handle? Are there any signs or markings on the blade?

A very interesting sword. Strange that no one have put any info about it.

I'll bump it now and see what happens :-)

Hello and thank you for the help. I have searched in GREECE and the internet but I can not find something similar. The length is 80 cm and 3 cm in width. I am sending you a photo with the design of the handle. thank you very much Stelios

Yeia sou Stelio!
The sword has what it seems like an early ottoman kilij blade. It is not a pala, since pala's has shorter and wider blades. It is mounted under arabic influence which is evident in the type of swordguard and also at the ending of the handle.
However the handle looks a bit starange, i cannot understand the material, is it painted?
If the sword belonged to your grandfather from inheritance from older generations, it could be a booty sword from the 1820s from the army of Ibraim pasha that came from Egypt with his army to subdue the Greek revolution. Its army was western in organisation and appearence, but for sure some officers would carry their own commisioned swords.

hello eftihi! I know that my family fighting in the revolution of 1821 but also how early the Orloff. I know it was together with Captain Giatrako the capture of tripoltsas. The handle is rather wooden internally from outside is leather and studs of silver. around the handle has plans of plants on a silver, if you pay attention to the Last photo I though t is not clearly seen there. leather and is the case, although in the beginning and end are the bronze. together with the sword I found 2 battle axes completely different. Thank you stelios
