Here 4 katars from my collection.
The big wootz one( 46 cm) and the small with rest of gold are in better state of conservation and higher standard of quality. I would like to know how we can date those Katars ,are they all from the same period ? Hopping I will have more information.. |

Fantastic grouping :) . Love the small fancy one from the south. As far as age goes the smaller fancy one is late 1700s-1820. The big one is probably from Rajasthan circa 1850s.

I collect a wide variety of tribal African, Indonesian and Philippine weapons I also collect Indian and Arab weapons I have several katar in my collection along with various other tulwars. If I get a chance today I will post a pic of my katars :) Lew |

Hi, Really like the last two, The wootz one is bold and clean. I found a relative of the stubby Nimcha, I believe their called awhile back they could be related. Jens will be able to tell about the first two. Steve
