another kindjal; big rivets and huge final ball
 

Hello dear members,

I have this kindjal to show you and ask about origin,

it is a mix of what seems ''average'' recent work with some fine silver wires ans details.

the blade seems good with maker's stamp and what it seems double etched fullers ( I don't think the blade is real damas but...)

I saw models like this one time ago with the long and large rivets but I can't find them anymore,

with the double fullers, I will say a russian model ?
but in the maker's stamp there is a signature in arabic,
so more caucasian ?

last question about the nielled mounts : hesitate between silver ( low grade ) or made of brass

Those are some huge knobs on your qama/kindjal! }|:oP

I'm no expert but I've seen that stamp before on quadarra and qama typically identified as Persian or occasionally as from the Caucasus, such as the one attached (not mine).

Actually, looking at it again, that's a terrible example. Those stamps look nothing alike. This one, listed as Russian, is perhaps a little closer. It has similarly larger-than-usual decorated rivets and double fullers with scrolling decorations.

what is uncommon in this kindjal are as you said these large knobs/rivets,
2cm/ 0,8 inches high
and a particularly thin but long blade : 3cm/1,2 inches at larger part of the blade
and scabbard with this huge final ball, 2,3cm/0,9 inches diameter

complex of the owner ?:D

more seriously, a caucasian habit ? from a close geographic area or fashioned sytyle in a period ( glad if we can defin-fix it when !)

Here a foto of a Kama-dagger made in Dagestan. I think it is very similar to the piece in question.

Indeed. For now I'll have to make do with my kindjal (of the Caucasian variety; excuse the poor picture quality, my phone's camera is not great, especially in low light).
Oh and definitely take everything I say with a huge grain of salt, as I've only been collecting for a couple of years and my knowledge is still pretty limited.
