Another Balinese Keris for Analysis
5 Attachment(s)
This is a yet another one traded at the swap meet I mentioned. I believe this to be a later hilt(Kocet-kocetan) with an older blade. The blade has some micro pitting that has been well hidden by its acidic wash.
Thanks in advance for input/feedback. |
Very nice kris, congrats! I cannot ascertain if the hilt is made from ivory or not

It is ivory, Jean. Thanks for your compliments.

Hopefully you won't mind if I slip a little enquiry into your request for analysis... The minimalist ron dha and ron dha nunut like on this example, is this a result of erosion or the original intent of the maker? I recently acquired my 2nd keris (also from Bali) and it has this minimalist feature (attached).

Impossible to know with certainty Jeff, but very probably erosion.
