Hungarian/Polish Swords on E-Bay

Not my forte, but for educational purposes: are these authentic swords indeed?

Hi Alex,

The forms of the hilt and blade are correct in the second one. The hilt and etching look correct in the first one. Impossible to say if they are truely correct with out having the pieces in your hands. Both are in remarkably good condition. I had loaded a sniped bid on the second one and it was pulled. Clearly the seller was fishing. Why?

All the best
Jeff

I agree with Jeff, nearly impossible to guage authenticity on these without having them in hand, despite the fact that they photograph well. They are indeed in remarkable condition considering the early period they represent. I always wonder why these early form sabres are so often titled 'karabelas' in these auction descriptions, when that term refers to an entirely different hilt form.
