Curious small knife

curious small knife arrived today,
http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...ckew/mayer.jpg
looks vaguely ethnic, interesting barbed choil, guard has acorn on the lower arm, small ring on the top one a bit like a bayonet guard except the ring is only 1/4 in. OD, stag grip, no pommel. joint between guard/bolster/blade is soldered. blade is stamped with an incomplete stamp that appears to say 'durga' or 'burga'
http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...w/mayer001.jpg
or similar, ground fuller one side of blade. blade is 3 5/8 in. long, 5/8 in wide, 1/16 thick at bolster, slight distal taper. grip is 2 3/4 in, bolster takes up 1/2 in of that, leather sheath has line decorations and a line starburst of 12 rays and five stamps that appear to say MAYER. may not be original to the knife itself. sheath came with a small piece sewn to the back with a strap and stud to hold it into the sheath, the thread on it has disappeared. it is in my possibles drawer awaiting resewing with linen thread.

It's "Bursa", a city in Turkey.

all falls into place when you realize thats a 's' not a 'g' - thanks.

bursa appears to have a custom knife making tradition tho i can't google very much info on it. this is of a similar size to a frost scout knife i have, although a bit more delicate looking and a different blade style.
