Kindjal

A question of Brass hilts and brass scabbards on Kindjals, are these a common thing or rare, or should they be as more traditional images would have it, with horn/bone hilt grips and leather scabbards or does this largely depend on region?
There was one with brass fittings in the swap forum recently and attached is an image of another with what appears to me as brass fittings.
Can anyone help with these questions?

thanks

Gav

You had a lot of Cossack and Caucus people leaving Russia in the 19th and 20th century. Some went through the Middle East, this was probably done in Syria you do find enamel on brass and silver from there. Not especially early but a nice piece

Thanks Ward, so it is more a regional things the fittings such as this one in brass, attributed to the Turkish areas, can anything else be learned from this style of dress in brass?

thanks
