simple jambya

Somehow my first attempt writing this post went wrong... so here is a 2nd try...

I recently obtained a rather simple Jambya. Handle is supposed to be horn; the monosteel blade sports a nice edge geometry. It somehow contrasts with these highly embellished pieces, but show lots of good craftmanship.

thx for looking

I agree all over. Do a simple etch and find out if it is worth a professional polish.

Thanks for the usefull comments. I'll give it a try and will let you know if it is wootz or not...

was it?

i recently bought a kurdish jambiyah that turned out to be a wootz blade with a plain wooden grip.

p.s. - was researching jambiyah for info on another arabian type & found this one i thought worth ressurecting.
