Indian Bow - help with circa period!

3 Attachment(s)
Hi All,

I'd desired a good bow for while now and finally landed this one at an auction yesterday! Still not in my possession but hope the snaps are decent enough. What I'm looking for is a circa period for this one and also which part of India this might've belong to...?! Would be very grateful for any help!

Thanks
Manish

Sorry, but I think this is not a very old item .... Most likely this is the work of the middle - second half of the 20th century.
I will be glad if I am wrong ...

Hi Mahrat
Your assessment is unfortunately correct.

Thanks Guys, no need to be apologetic about your honest assessment! :) I've always longed for a good bow and it'd be both difficult and expensive to find something late 18th century in good condition, I imagine! So happy with this esp the string in tact, this was from a notable single owner collection.

Can't imagine anybody produced bow-arrows in the second half of 20th century but I could be wrong!

Thanks again folks, very grateful...

Any idea which part of India could these have come from...!?

Authentic steel bows are not common, but were used. True antique examples have very little embellishment.
