The single edged concavely clip pointed blade measures 8½ inches (21.8 cm) in length and is a robust ¼ inch (0.7 cm) in thickness at the spine until it begins to taper to an acute point. An inscription 'Philippines 1945' has been well engraved on one face of a blade with a bright finish but also still showing variations in forging and striations from rough shaping. There is a forging flaw in the spine just over 2 inches back from the tip that leads into a 3/16 inch closed crack. The hilt is composed of dark water buffalo horn set off from the blade by a brass guard and octagonal ferrule. Decorative aluminum inserts have been placed into the hilt on one face. The end of the hilt is shaped reminiscent of a hoof. The length of the knife is 13½ inches (34 cm) with a weight of 7.7 ounces (219 grams). A brown leather sheath accompanies the knife and features embossed decoration and a stacked leather medallion on the display face. There is scuffing and an incomplete break of the leather within the reinforced sheath tip. Within the sheath, the length is just over 14 inches (36 cm) and the overall weight is 8¾ ounces (248 grams).
