1069 - Philippine Bolo Utility Knife with Wooden Sheath

This broad single edged blade is 10 inches (25.5 cm) in length and has a convex cutting edge tapering to the point. The faces and spine have a textured filed finish with some pitting that likely reflect low spots from forging. The well but simply shaped wooden hilt has an iron ferrule (with yellowing lacquer). A fitting wooden scabbard is made up of two halves strapped together with two bands of synthetic creamy white cord. A number of scuff marks mar the scabbard. Overall sheathed length is 16¼ inches (41 cm) with a weight of 12¾ ounces (362 grams).
