A double edged 8 inch (20.3 cm) long blade widening towards the hilt and then narrowing again to form a spike on either side has a high midrib on either side with the edge tracked by three parallel narrow inscribed lines upon each blade face. The blade has a nice dark finish / patina with only faint old rust spots. The hilt is entirely covered with copper from a crescent shaped guard through a stippled grip and a smooth tapering point. Probably 20th century and intended more as a prestige item than a weapon of war and from tribes inhabiting the rainforests of the central Congo. Overall length is 18 inches (45.7 grams) with a weight of just over 8 ounces (237 grams).
