A Zulu knobkerrie in which both dark heart wood and light sap wood extend the full length from head to the tip of the shaft. The head is a somewhat apple-shaped flattened sphere. Very narrow and reasonably inconspicuous cracks run lengthwise with the grain in both the head and shaft. This club is 32½ inches (83 cm) in overall length and weighs just over 16 ounces (470 grams). Lew dated this example as circa 1880 to 1900.
