20 - Philippine Luzon 'Bowie' Knife, circa 1930 - 1940

A robust and utilitarian knife from the Philippines in the form of a clip-point Bowie. The 12 inch long single-edged blade is 0.17 inches thick at the spine. The wooden hilt has a black finish with a brass ferrule and guard and fits into a wooden sheath bound with brass bands. Overall length is just over 17 inches with a weight of just under 14½ ounces.
