The robust 11 inch (28 cm) has a 'T' cross section with the back being 0.4 inch (.11 cm) thick approaching the hilt and arising from a blade that is otherwise up to about 0.2 inch (0.49 cm) in thickness. The back is slightly downward curving (convex) with an edge curving in just beyond a ricasso and then running parallel to the back before curving to form an acute point. The main 'flats' of the blade faces are mildly concave (hollow ground) rising to a low ridge before entering into the edge bevel. Patchy slight pitting is present more on one face than the other, though the worst spot (see photo) is on the otherwise less affected side. An iron bolster manages the transition into the blade from the hilt and is decorated with transverse and crossed (X) lines that extend a short ways onto the spine of the blade. The water buffalo horn grip scales are riveted to a full width tang with three iron rivets or pins each surrounded by a brass washer. A small tang extension is also present. Floral decorated fabric covers a wooden sheath with gold colored ribbon at the mouth end and seam. There is some loss at the tip of the sheath where wood is exposed. The dagger measures 16 inches (41 cm) with a weight close to one pound (435 grams). Overall sheathed length is 16 3/8 inch (41.5 cm) with a weight of 17 ounces (491 grams).
