This is a typical example of the naife of the Canary Islands with a 7½ inch (19 cm) single edge blade with a burnished surface that arises from a short stem inserting into a hilt with a round cross section tapering symmetrically to a maximum diameter in the center of the grip. The hilt is composed of brass, aluminum and horn discs of varying colors. There is no sheath. Overall length is just over a foot (30.7 cm) with a weight of just over 4½ ounces (134 grams).
