Default Chinese sword for comments

Hello dear members,

Here is a chinese sword I received,
A large type of dao, almost 90cm/ 35,4 inches .
The scabbard seems to have copper wire decoration with black lacquer around.
sadly the blade ( massive ) and hilt are bad preserved/rusty.
I wonder about the age ? 19th century ?
Earlier blade and hilt ?
Or all 20th century and just bad preserved ??

I will say that this is the middle - third quarter of the 19th century. I like that the sword has an iron/steel guard and hanging rings connected by a bar. From what I've heard, the scabbard wrapped in wire and coated with black lacquer is typical of the Taiwan Strait coast.

Thank you Ren Ren for your reply,
Thank's a lot for the Taïwan Strait origin for the wires/scabbard.

A thought,
If it was little later 1895-1900 and on the Taiwanese side of the Strait we would call it a japanese sword 😁
