Fantastic program to resize images for posting! WinXP required

This is one of the best progarms I have ever used for simplicity and speed of resizing pictures for posting!

You do need Windows XP.

Tell you how it works. Download and install from here. (FREE)

Anytime you right click on a picture, you will see a new choice among the others -- "Resize picture."

Click there and you will be given several options for resize. I pick the one that says 800x600. Highlight one or several pictures and click.

The program will copy, reduce and put the new pictures in your file. It will rename them so you do not overwrite your originals. The pictures below were done with this program. It even reduced the pictures from 4 MB to about 140kb. You have to have a file size less than 195kb or so to post here.

I even resized the pictures within the "manage attachments" and posted them here. Whole process from finding pictures to posting them in maybe a minute.

This is so simple and easy, I am kicking myself for not getting it sooner!

Which one do you like? The Ching Jian or the Depr / Cossack?

I put a Lantaka on the Chang. (Temporarily)

i always loved the old army cossacks. you could find them really cheap and they are awesome restored (as you well show). i never owned one, but always meant to!
but, i also had a thing for late 70's jap bikes (pre-plastic roadbikes) as they were real muscle machines. i enjoyed fixing bikes for many years, until i did it for a job (almost 10 years). they say never do your hobby as a job as it kills it for you, which it eventually did for me.
but, can still admire beauty and yours are wonderful to look at.

This Dnepr / Cossack is a weird hybrid.

I guess I can continue as the Dnepr was based on the military BMW, but my original intent was just to use it as an example of a picture I was able to easily resize.

However since you have opened the box....

I got this from a guy in Southampton, UK.

The original bike was, as best we can figure from the numbers, a 1957. The engine has been replaced by a Reliant (think 3 wheel British car) 850 water cooled mill with a few mods. Mated to the Russian tranny 4 forward and reverse.

About 100 hp. Mini Miinor Radiator in the front of the sidecar.

The sidecar is completely custom built. 6 gal gas tank, luggage rack, spare wheel, car seat (seat belt), heater and an opening skylight. Side door and back door lock securely.

Sidecar does have a brake, but the rig still does not stop very well. Great for hauling things like the wife, dogs, groceries and more.

Maybe I could mount a missle launcher on the top?

The Chang Jian is original. Another weapon, the Chinese Jian. Guess I am ok here on this Forum!

But, guys, try the Image Resizer on your pics and post weapons more to the EAA Forum!

FYI: i'm using reaconverter pro from http://www.reasoft.com/, i've been using it since 2005 and i luve it

they almost have all the features that i need from automatic batch, resizing size and resolution and other thing.

please try it, you might luv it like i do

Just took a look and it looks very powerful and will do a lot more than Powertoy.

But powertoy is free and will do enough for me. If I need more I use Photoshop or Coreldraw.

However for $99 ReaConverter Pro looks like a good value and is a lot cheaper than Photsho or Coreldraw!

your are lucky if not dealing a lot of images every day

i done the same thing like you do, i use PS for editing & retouching the image and use IrvanView
( imho : freeware and better than powertoy ). You Might Try it bill

But since the last year, i was helping my famaly e-commerce as programmer and web master. Since that, i'm dealing with hundred/ thousand of images every week so i need tools to help me After reviewing and testing couple of commercial software, i choose reaconverter.

hope this info could help other who deal with many images in their daily activities like me

True, I don't deal with a lot of images, so this Powertoy works well for me.

I tried your link to Irfanview and got a page that is trying to sell a software download product. Do you have direct info to the free imga eprogram. WOuld like to try it.

I am now using, Picassa 2 as an organizer/picture editor and FlipAlbum to put together an e-book.

Here are three pictures I ran through the process. Took 2mb pictures, enhanced them.

Picture 1 is 15kb.
Picture 2 is 26kb
Picture 3 is 60 kb.

I think that they look ok and will email easily.

I do not have a macro lens for it. I use it just like it came out of the box. I only added a radio trigger (eBay, about $40) to control my studio strobes. I think this is one of the best cameras around. It has optical zoom of 12 to 1 (35mm - 319mm), image stabilization for low level shooting and a rechargable Li-Ion battery.

I use a 1 gigabyte memory card.

There are newer models of this camera, but I think it is enough. I got this one at Frye's (Display model) for $200. You should be able to find them on eBay.

Still using Picasa and Powertoy resizer.

Camera is Panasonic Lumix dmc-fz70. Amazing capabilities. 20mm to 1200mm optical zoom. Powerful image stabilization. I have hand held full frame pictures of the moon at 1200mm zoom that are very sharp. Easily see the craters..

ARCSOFT PHOTOBASE 4.5 is what I have used for a few years both with XP and now with Windows 7. Available as a free download. Program gives options for cropping, toning, enhancing, resizing, red eye removal etc all on the one screen. Very easy to use.
Since the theme of resizing seems to include interesting bikes, here is one I saw in Shanghai a couple of years ago. From the pics shown above by Bill M it would appear that this is also a Chang Jian, but in military guise.

I use Irfanview for all photo editing and I edit a LOT of photos, it is free and I have found it to be extremely easy and versatile to use. It does cropping, resizing and panorama images in seconds.
