A Katipunan era Luzon matulis
Just have purchased this sword, I think that it is a Katipunan era Luzon matulis with S knuckle guard and peened tang, the handle is very similar with one shown in the Macao exhibition. The scabbard is sadly only partly received. it is 27 inch (68,6 cm) long. Any opinion?

Great catch Detlef, I must say that again I am jealous of your luck in finding these wonderful items you have been coming up with. The sunburst/sunray hilt design is always nice to find on an older hilt like. As you have already pointed out the scabbard is in poor condition but I would rather have an original one in poor condition than none at all. At least with this you could have a correct copy made if you wanted. I also agree with you on your dating and with the sunray hilt design also on the probability of a of a Katipunan connection. Again my congratulations to you on yet another great find my friend.
