Default Belt Afghan???

Hi Guys,

I have to pick up that belt before Rick's wake up!

Is it Central Asian, Afghan or even Omani??
The seller said that it cames from Iraq...
The belt buckle is really nice.

Best,
Kubur

Hi Kubur,
Certainly not Omani. The buckle is NOT typical of that area. I think you probably have answered your own question. The link you give of the Afghan Crest is what appears on the belt buckle.

WOW !!
Hi Stu. What a neat belt assembly. Afghan. The leather/metal design looks Afghan. I seen others similar. Really a nice ensamble. And the horn powder measures. Excellent.
I'm traveling at the moment. But will offer more responses tonight.
Rick.

Hi Kubur.
Again, super neat belt!! And the buckle is great !! I have to assume the bone containers for pre-measured powder charges once had some type of stopper in each. Possibly wood, leather, or bone again (?). Maybe the stoppers were simply lashed to the grooves of the measure tips, or were attached to the pouch in some manner (?). If you get a chance, maybe you can take a couple pics of the inside of the pouches. Was there anything inside them?
Rick.
