Default small sickle knife

Just received this one : it's a small African sickle knife from the Nsakara tribe in Congo. Total length of this piece is : 40 cm.

What I like about is, is the different shape of the blade near the handle. Haven't seen anything like it upto now.
The wooden handle has a split running its entire length, but this was handsomely repared by using two rattan bands.

In my books, these small sickle knives are referred to as parade knives or status symbols, used by young girls or old men.

When I got it, this piece was lacquered. This proves to me that it has some age as this was often done by belgian colonists living in Congo to protect their collection.

I got one of these from you some years ago. Not as pretty as this one but as you said at the time a nice old piece.
