Hello Danny, my first thoughts went to Batak, Indonesia as the brass part with those protuding knobs remind me of those long/large brass Batakpipes. This type of spearpoint is used all the way to South Philippines.
Thogh guess you thought of it being Batak aswell . . . .as you searched in the RMV collection, not? |

Hello Indianajones ,
Thanks for your answer , good guess that Batak did cross my mind also but a friend collector pointed me in the direction of Jambi ? But when I look on rmv I cant find a clear photo with the protruding knobs. |

Spear in RMV collection
If you look at:
http://www.rmv.nl/collections/ and then fill in: 1239-244 you will find a spear with a similar brass part (Sumatra, Toba Batak). Last edited by Albert; 3rd November 2011 at 05:18 PM. |

Albert thank you !
Yes it has the similar bras part, so it is probably from the same area. |

I have seen one on Ebay, attributed to Batak.

I have seen the "balls" on the bottom of the ferrule as being Batak.

Okay, I'm going to ask a stupid question (I do this a lot); has the point the appearance of being reworked ?
