Garab / Talibon for comment.
This is my first sword of the year, a Filipino talibon.
It measures 22 3/4" overall, with a 18 3/4" blade that's apparently ~5mm thick. It looks somewhat older than my first talibon: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2292 is WWII or thereabouts a likely date? Earlier/later? All comments most welcome. Emanuel |

Well Katana you apparently know something - I agree it is WWII or perhaps a slight bit earlier (1930s).

Battara, I'm glad you both agree on the date. The last talibon I had was also around 5mm thick, how thick can these blades get? All the best, Emanuel |

Hi Manolo, I'm sure Jose can answer your question about blade thickness on these weapons better than I could but just thought I would add that I have a couple that have 7 & 8mm thick blades and have seen one that was 10mm thick at the grip.
