Default Hembrug Klewang

Just got the klewang on the bay. No scabbard but a good price. I've been looking to get one of these for a while, they look like fun little cutlasses. Some light rust on the blade but should clean up nicely.

Can't ever have too many pics, so here are some for the record.

This is weird
When things happen to me, they happen in clusters. By some quirk of fate I got a second klewang. I made an offer I didn't quite expect would be accepted, while simultaneously winning a bid on another listing.

Here is klewang number 2. No rust this time but some small edge nicks - must have seen some action - also no scabbard.

Two very good Hembrug klewang. The Hembrug stamp is clearly visible. Shame there is no scabbard.

Congrats on these finds!!

Thanks!
I like them a lot. They seem to be very versatile, chop, slice, stab.
One of these does not seem to have been sharpened at all. Were these used unsharpened?
I've just ordered the book "Klewang: Catalogue of the Dutch Army Museum" seems like a very informative book.

my klewang is pretty much razor sharp & shows no sign of any after-mfg. field sharpening - i suspect it was issued that way. the 'false' edge at the clipped point isn't false, it's pretty much as sharp as the rest.
