Welcome to the forum Bugis Keris. We will need to see some photos before we can comment. I did note that you have a few posts in the moderation queue that have hyper-links to your images. I am afraid that you will need to post your photos directly to your posts as we do not all links where the images may disappear some time down the road leaving a thread picture-less.
Please see this thread for instructions on how to post your photos. http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=13631 I would also recommend that you read the forum rules carefully. Please be aware that we do not allow any commercial activity on the regular forums. Thanks. |

I lived in Bontang for 3 years in the 90's so I am particularly interested by your participation to this forum, especially if you have any experience about the krisses from Kutai and Banjarmasin. As David says, please carefully avoid any commercially-oriented post (use the swap forum for this purpose) and I advise you to check the correct English names in a good dictionary, for instance I think that by gloves you mean sheath/ sarong/ warangka and by Upstream the hilt/ hulu/ ukiran? We are all familiar with the common (Javanese) kris terms so you can use them. Best regards |

Thanks for showing us one of your keris! Small blades of this general type I've seen mainly coming from Riau and surroundings.
However, your blade does exhibit very strong etching/warangan. This I haven't seen from the larger Sumatera area nor Kalimantan Timur yet. Where did you obtained this keris? Regards, Kai |
