Default Flyssa/Flissa

This arrived yesterday, it came from ebay so I was unsure wether it would have any real quallity or age. To my surprise it is well made and rather elegant being 41 cm in total length and 17mm wide exept at the forte were it is 22mm from the back to the tip. A fine steel blade with some brass inlay and a pretty scabbard. A sabre sized one would be nice next, I dare say that would cost a little bit. Tim

Tim

That's a nice little flyssa you have and the patina on the scabbard shows some age. Now as for a larger version I am afraid to tell you that they are hard to find in good condition and complete with a scabbard. They can be quite costly to boot.

Very nice! I wish I had more time, so I could finish off my backlog, and buy something like this...

The whole knife weighs 190g without the scabbard. The photo makes the blade look fatter and less elegant than it actually is. The general form and handle of the knife is like one of those early 19th century surgeons knives . Tim
