Unusual large bulbous African war club Lignum Vitae?
Collected in the 60s from the Mosi-oa-Tunya area of the Zambizi between Zambia and what was then Rhodesia. The collectors recollection was that the racial group that produced this club spoke Xhosa.
Great condition, a dense very hard and heavy wood. I'm not sure of the species but the weight is very heavy, around 900g and around 63cm long Thats OVER 2ft! Wood is Possibly some Lignum type or relative of ebony at a guess? Has an old 'lanyard' made of a strip of vulcanised rubber, possibly a strip of tyre. Absolutely superb! Very large and very heavy. Price is £80 email me for more pictures. Postage at cost depending on location etc. gimmieitbaby@aol.com |
