Default New pedang lurus enter the collection soon

This pedang lurus will enter the collection soon, no length given from the auction house.
What appealed to my eyes was the interesting scabbard and handle. Better pics will be added when I have received it.

The pedang arrived and I am satisfied with my purchase. It has received a little bit of TLC in the meanwhile.
The ferrule is from bone and I think that the handle is from horn. Scabbard's foot is missing but this was obvious.
Approx. 60 cm long inside scabbard, 58 cm without, blade 45,7 cm, 7 mm thick at the spine behind the handle.

Does anyone have a clue how the scabbard foot might have looked like?

Very nice Sajen. The furniture goes well together. Congrats!
Maybe you should share with me the name of the German Auction House, I just want to look😁

Hi Detlef

a very nice pedang you found, I guess the size of the horn is not to bad, to find a replacement tip. I should have a look at Dictum Tools they also have some horn blanks in their webshop. https://www.dictum.com/en/horn-cb/bu...orn-tip-831033

Best wishes, Martin

Cool sword. I find the blade profile on some of these pedangs lurus like yours interesting and distinctive. For some reason they strike me as vaguely insectoid. Is there a functional reason for the widening and minor angle change at mid blade? I think a scabbard tip matching the wood at the throat of the scabbard would look right. Nice topographic pamor.

Thank you Albert!
It's a small auction house, they offered two blades only, this pedang and a kukri. I don't know if they want to ship to the States.

Regards,
Detlef

Hi Martin,

To get a fitting piece of horn wouldn't be the problem, it would be great to know how the foot looked like!

Thank you for the compliment!

Best regards,
Detlef

Hi Jeff,

Also to you thank you for your comments and compliment!

It would be great to know what the foot looked like! To find a matching wood to the scabbard mouth would be a challenge. I am with Martin to use black horn.
No clue why the blade shape is like this, I see these pedangs more as a long dagger for stabbing.

Regards,
Detlef
