Default Mandinka short sword...

Picked up an 'Eastern Warrior's Hunting Sword' at a London auction, It looks more like it's a sidekick for my NW African Mandinka sword tho, looking at the leatherwork. Rather subdued green leather in the decorative grip and scabbard. (Maybe it's just in need of a clean?) Should be with me later this week...

I tarted up the photo to increase the exposure as their photo was so dark you couldn't see the colour let alone the fancy braid work.

25 in. overall...

Some time ago, an almost identical one was on ebay, previously bought at one of internet auctions. It was advertised as Caucasian shashka. Can't find pics.
Should we call it Mandinka pseudo-shashka or shashkoid for brevity?:-)
