Keris Panjang for comments!
Dear Fellow Forum Members,
This Keris Panjang have me somewhat stumped a bit, because it has nearly full pamor (rare) and have this strange forward bend, not to mention the unusual handle. I will welcome any and all comments regarding origin (Sumatra?) and the particulars of the blade and dress. The blade is 63 cm from the tip of the blade to the top of the gonjo. |

That is nice and unusal as you say. I have never seen that hilt form either, but judging from the sheath form i would would agree with your Sumatran guess.

Thank you for the responses so far, I checked the "sold Items" Adni had on the web site, but did not see any with a simular bend in the blade. He did have a "sold" panjang with a nearly identical dress, he had it from Riau Lingga in South Sumatra.
Perhaps our friends in Malaysia/Singapore can help out on this one, the very unusual handle, the forward bend, and the use of a nearly full pamor. |
