Default From where..?

I stumbled on a post card with a very nice and fierce warrior on it.
But from where exactly I would like to know ?

The backside contained no clue, accept a private message in German to a loved one (his miss or wife ) from a German or Austrian gent, most likely a soldier.

It reminds me of a drawing of a Kozak in the Royal Army Museum, perhaps Black Sea or Zaporozhian...but than again I am not sure if my guess is correct ...
Your thoughts please...!

I think the drawing is a Dagestani. Maybe the colored one is one of the Czar's Caucasian guards?
