Default 18th/19thC Indian Torador musket for sale-possible wall gun?‏

We're offering this old warhorse for sale, from our own research we put this as being from the late 18thC, but as these weapons are difficult to age correctly, it could easily be from the early to mid 19thC? This is a heavy gun, and when combined with its barrel length 135cm (overall 185cm, bore 20mm), we wonder if this could have been a wall piece or was it meant for field use with a bipod? The general conditon is best described as well used!! The woodwork has taken a fair bashing with several cracks and splits and the area around the trigger has been strengthened at some point with alluminium plates. The trigger mechanism works to a degree, when pulled the hammer does have some movement-we think the repairwork may be hindering the correct action but are loathed to take the thing apart due to lack of knowledge!! The metal work is generally good with good age patina and no major rust damage. All the barrel bands are secure as is the sling swivel. The barrel has pin marked letters on its top that sadly we can make no sense of, but we guess to be an armoury mark? A little iron pricker comes with this old beast.

As posting is something of an issue with these larger items, we are prepared to meet up with potential buyers; work takes us around the country and perhaps we could deliver on our travels. Anybody overseas interested then we could try to find out about shipping.
