Default Russian Shaska

Hi all!

Here is some photos of my shaska-sable. It is my grandfathers
war-memory...taken autum 1941 fight place "Porlammen Motti"
in Finnish Carelia-if you put name "Porlammen Motti" to google-there
You'll find history of that battle...On finnish language..

I got this shaska about 50 years ago-it was my grandfathers will.

But the shaska itself. There are some marks on blade-but I don't
understand them. This knopf of sable is a bit diffrent brass lejering
than other brass parts-an to me has been told that Russian Army modernized older Empire time sables just changing old "Two head eagle" knopfs to "CCCP-knopf".

Does stamps of blade
tell anything of that "facta"-I mean that what is factory they made this one?
And is it mainly end of 1800' ...something 1891---later ?

Have anyone better knowledge of this?

Best regards Markku

Congratulations on the excellent shashка model 1927.It is clear from the stamp that it was produced in 1938 in Zlatoust. The logo «ЗИЗ», means Златоустовский инструментальный завод.Zlatoustovskiy instrumental factory.
Everything is fine The letters on the other side are stamps for acceptance and quality control. The marking corresponds to the year of manufacture ....an excellent and original subject

Hi Markku,

It is not the shashka itself that counts, it’s the blessed memory of your grandfather and heroic fights of Finnish people against the Red Army.

Ountnumbered and outgunned, they fought a clever war against a giant and dumb enemy, truly a David and Goliath battle.

This trophy should never be sold: it has to go to your kids and grandkids.

Than You Ariel...Fine and beautiful words.

Yes-shaska will go to my children when time is-and they
know story of this one.And history behind that violent war.

That time is gone-same most of those men and women.
But we remember...

regards Markku

Hi!

Here is my second Shaska...broken one. I found it
in structures when I repaired my old house. Someone
perhaps has hidden it long ago...

But on blade are marks-and I'll like to know more that shaska.
Knopf and other parts are iron-and chrome plated. And is not
so high quality work that my first one I think.

What does marks perhaps tell this Shaska?

regards Markku
