Default Small Knife for Identification

Hi All --

I got this on ebay a while ago and I'm not sure where it's from. OAL 4". It's got a leather sheath, the blade is very sharp, and it's made in one piece with the "handle." The structure of the handle seems to be just two pointed progs perpendicular to the blade, with some thread wrapped around it. I'd like to know what it is so I can see about re-wrapping the handle in the proper way: some sort of finger knife/hook variant from Africa? Something from the Phillipines? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is there any indication that the string isn't a late addition? It might be informative to unwrap it and see if there are bolt holes or something in those parallel prongs to hold it to a shaft. Otherwise, I keep thinking it's what happens when someone has an unnatural love for katars and sickles, and wanted something small....

Best,

F

I think it's a cock-fighting blade. The string is for strapping the blade to the cocks leg.

There is still the question from where this cock fighting knife. It isn't from Bali, the knifes from there look different. Have someone a clue?

It's from the Philippines. Bali cock fighting knives are quite different looking.
