Default Pedang III

A Sumatran pedang from the Palembang area. Van Zonneveld refers to it as Pedang III (of three types) on page 102 of Traditional Weapons of the Indonesian Archipelago. I like it very much.

Hi Flavio,

Looks like a good find!
I especially like the green colour of your horn hilt.
And of course the carvings.

It's a beauty, a fine, quality example. I had thought about that one 1001 times, but ultimately decided against it because I have similar examples. Glad it got a good home. I think Sumatran blades are some of the most eye catching and best quality of the Indonesian archipelago.
