An article about a Malaysian Keris Collector
I see a lot of me in him and vice versa, and I'm happy he said the things he did in the last 6 paras.

Excellent article, and reflects my sentiments too. There's been too much fear of the keris among the keris, borne mainly out of ignorance. My own journey into the world of keris has been due to learning much from Paul's Keris Page, this forum and books. The more I learn and discover, the hungrier I become to learn more.

Unfortunately, just because of the attitudes this man has encountered, learning more about keris is becoming more and more difficult. There are very few people left who really (and i mean REALLY) know anything important about keris, and of those many do not tend to share their knowledge. At the same time there are quite a few who claim to know about keris and don't. For guys like me it is always a challenge to know the difference. The only upside to this forgetfulness of the Indonesian people of this great national treasure is that it makes it easier for someone like me to obtain them, but that, my friends, is surely a bittersweet advantage.

Nicely written article...I tend to agree with his opinions.
