Default What is it?

Hello,

This just ended http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
To me it looks like a big Wahabyte blade with a strange chilanum handle in afghan decoration. The scabbard recalls somewhat yataghan scabbards no? I would like to know what you think.

It looks North African to me due to the brass scabbard and the decoration on the hilt. It is an interesting weapon and I too would love to learn what it really is.

Hello Manolo, TVV is right: this is a sudanese/egyptian knife. I think that the age coud be middle of XX century maybe a little older.

Hello, and thank you both. Does this creature have a name/type associated with it? Due to the age, could it be classified as a tourist piece or is it based on older, established models?
