Default Fernando is New Addition to Moderator Staff

I am pleased to announce that Fernando has now officially been appointed to moderators position here on the European Armoury. It had been decided that with the long absence of Ed, it would be a good measure to emplace another moderator to balance the administrative duties and overseeing here.

The forum's great success has been due to the keen participation of all of you, along with Fernando, who has shared his enthusiasm in personally fostering the friendly and learned demeanor we strive to maintain here.

I hope everyone will join me in congratulations to Fernando, and Im very glad to have him joining the staff here!!!

Hi Fernando,

My best congratulations on this important step in your career, you sure deserved it! Cheers!!!

Please do go on accepting at least some of my humble contributions, boss. Am I allowed to still call you amigo?: shrug:

And, Jim: optimal choice, that one!

With all my very best wishes,
Michael

Congratualtions on a most deserved promotion, Fernando! Fortunately, the level of participation here tends to be such that moderating is rarely really necessary, but it is always nice to be recognized for your extraordinary contributions in both quantity and quality.

Regards,
Teodor

Thank you all, Gentlemen,
As Teodor well puts it, the discussions in this forum are generally so highly leveled that, the need for moderation is indeed rather remote … and so it should keep.
I sincerly hope that some of the tools i am now sharing with the EAAF moderators team will get rusty, due to their use not being needed.
This is a bit like the contribution that can be given by a referee to a match; the least you have to interfere, the better things are running.
So i sincerely expect to play the invisible role, my posts still being the usually thematic ones.
I can’t go, however, without saying that i am at everyone’s disposal for any questions you come across and are within my reach.

Of course Fernando, there is the matter of your initiation ceremony and the subsequent fraternity hazing ....

I believe it includes lots of beer and paddles .................

Welcome .

A bit late, but let me join to the general congratulations for your appointment to the position of Moderator, Fernando .
In my experience (I moderate other fora) this tends to be kind of a mixed blessing, but this is definitely a fairly quiet place in terms of calls for attention. Hopefully, the stick won't be needed much... although is always good to have it there, anyway. Just in case.
In any event, I could hardly think in a better choice for Resident Staff. Way to go!

Thanks Rick,
Whine, more likely
Later in the night, whisky and soda.
And probably a sacrifice to the Gods, like killing a goat ... to go roasted

You know you are never late, Marc.
Yes, a strong reason that took me to accept the invitation is that people here are cool and calm ... and wise.
Come to think i don't yet have a stick .
Thanks for your thoughts.

I HAVE ENJOYED YOUR POSTS AND LEARNED FROM YOUR KNOWLEGE AND OPEN MINDED APPROACH TO OTHER POINTS OF VIEW. BASED ON THESE THINGS I AM SURE YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS BEING A VERY GOOD MODERATOR. BESIDES BEING A MODERATOR GIVES YOU A GOOD EXCUSE TO SPEND TIME ON THE FORUM READING AND POSTING. IF THE WIFE PROTESTS YOU SPEND TOO MUCH TIME YOU NOW HAVE THE "ITS MY RESPONSIBILITY" EXCUSE TO USE.
BEST OF LUCK

Teodor is correct, but i think that he is probably unaware of the other behind the scenes tasks assigned to new moderators.....
.....um, Nando, my dishes are beginning to pile up just a bit....

If that is an atempt to frighten me, you have surely scored .
Do we have a smilie for panic?

Belated congratulations! I mod on a couple other boards (one requires active moderation, while the other is fairly calm, like it is here), so I understand the ups and downs inherent to it. I'm sure you'll do fine
