Default Spanish Miquelet pistol by LARANAGA

I had in my collection a certainly Spanish pistol which is marked on the barrel FRAN LARANAGA and on its lockplate LARRIATEGUI. I cannot find these names in Eibar nor in Ripoll. Does anyone here know these makers?
Thanks

hello

According Larrañaga "Synthesis of Basque historic armory" page 223, records
Larrañaga, Francisco de, 1722/1723

Larrañaga, Francisco de, 1806, canonist (barrel maker)

Larreategui, Ramon, union representative, Placencia, 1819

and on page 128;

LARRIATEGUI - "According STOCKEL NEW indices is assumed that this gunsmith and owner of the mark reproduced, acted between the years 1720 -. 1740. However, the name and nature of this ignores's surname, since ancient times, are generally recognized as residents of Ermua or Placencia de las Armas, in the forms of Larreategui or Larriategui, either "

and accompanies a drawing of the punch.

Don't you agree Fernando K that, despite whatever origin the barrel and lock smiths have, this beautiful pistol style is the typical Catalana de Bola (ball stock), like those from Ripoll ?

Hello, Fernando and all

If, of course. The handle ball is typical of Ripoll, but has been copied everywhere. Corrado, has risen to wire Dana W "Spanish pistol, maker and decoration", a copy of grip ball produced in Italy (Napoli RM)

Many thanks for the different posts. I understood that a gunsmith Larriategui has been working in Placencia during the years between 1720 and 1740. However the gunmaker Larranaga's adress is still unknown. What has become quite clear is that this type of pistol in the so called Ripoll style was not limited to Ripoll but has been made in other regions too.

Thanks a lot
