Default Keris Java Yogyakarta Options please

Hello,

Is it possible to identify the pamor on these pictures? Seems to me that this keris is more recent.

regards Pat

To me, it looks like the pamor - at least from the sorsoran up - is a rendition of lawe setukal.

Yes, this is a current era Madura blade, +/-1982 > 2015.

The pamor gives the appearance of being tri warna, ie, three pamors, but in fact it is only one pamor that has been incorrectly handled. That first, intentional pamor is Lawe Setukal and it can be seen in the mid-section of the blade, the pamor motif running into the sorsoran gives the appearance of Pancal, the pamor running to the penitis is not a nameable motif. These two motifs are the result of incorrect forging technique that has resulted in elongation of the Lawe Setukal motif.

Still, all that said, the end result is quite attractive, and even though incorrect and badly done for the pamor motif that was set up, the end result is really not too bad.
